He thought that the Doctor was responsible for the devastation of Red Rocket Rising. He told them about the course of the asteroid that landed on the planet. He knew of the Daleks' history. He later rescued Lucie from the Dalek command ship. He planned to destroy the Dalek ship with fission batteries.
