From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Based on the 1978 picture book of the same name by Raymond Briggs, The Snowman is considered to be an iconic staple of Christmas television schedules in the United Kingdom, where it is shown multiple times during the season on Channel 4.

Radio Times[[edit] | [edit source]]

The film's characters have appeared three times as the main cover stars of Radio Times' yearly Christmas double issues. In 2012, RT 4624 used their cover to promote the broadcast of the original film's 30th anniversary sequel, The Snowman and the Snowdog. The same issue featured coverage of that year's Doctor Who Christmas Special, fittingly titled The Snowmen.

The follow year's issue featured another Snowman-related cover illustration, this time of Raymond Briggs' depiction of Father Christmas, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the original Father Christmas book.

The Snowman himself would once again star on the cover of RT 4931 in 2018, coinciding, this time, with the original book's 40th anniversary.

As a much more minor example, the cover of RT 4469 advertised a giveaway of a free copy of the original The Snowman book above in a banner above the title.
