• The cover of "Heroes" and "V-2 Schneider" was referenced by Titan's Doctor Who: The Twelfth Doctor comic series, on Cover C of issue 12DY2 3 which was designed by Simon Myers.
• The song was a tribute by Bowie to Florian Schneider of the German band Kraftwerk. The name also references the V2 rocket developed by Germany during World War II.
