Vernon Dursley

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
"Vernon Dursley" is a title based upon conjecture.

Check the behind the scenes section, the revision history and discussion page for additional comments on this article's title.

Mr Dursley and Mrs Dursley were characters in a "classic" bedtime story which the Thirteenth Doctor began to tell herself in order to pass the time, while serving time in prison.

The story began: "Mr. and Mrs. Dursley of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly norm--". However, the Doctor was interrupted before she could continue. (TV: Revolution of the Daleks )

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

The line being quoted by the Doctor is the opening line of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, though the book is not referred to by name in the episode. The full opening line reads "Mr. and Mrs. Dursley of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much."

In the Harry Potter series, Vernon Dursley is Harry Potter's abusive uncle, who rears him with his wife Petunia.
