West Ham United, (PROSE: Football United Starts Today! [+]Loading...["Football United Starts Today! (PROSE: Slow Decay [+]Loading...["Slow Decay (novel)"])

Supporters of the club included Donna Noble (TV: Planet of the Ood [+]Loading...["Planet of the Ood (TV story)"]) and Graham O'Brien. (PROSE: The Simple Things [+]Loading...["The Simple Things (short story)"])

History[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Thirteenth Doctor attempted to take Graham O'Brien to have a kickabout with Bobby Moore during the club's glory days of 1964, but the TARDIS instead materialised in 1896 at Thames Ironworks and Shipbuilding Company, just prior to the club's first ever final against Barking in the Charity Cup. Graham instead had a kickabout with Charlie Dove, and even gave him his West Ham pin, thereby christening his favourite team. (PROSE: The Simple Things [+]Loading...["The Simple Things (short story)"])

Owen Harper could hear the club playing in their home ground while growing up in Plaistow. He used to listen to the cheers as they scored, and the groans when a goal went against them, all while making up his own commentary. (PROSE: Slow Decay [+]Loading...["Slow Decay (novel)"])

Two players for the team, Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters, played for England in the 1966 World Cup Final against West Germany. (PROSE: Extra Time [+]Loading...["Extra Time (novel)"])

In the 1970s, Mike Yates, the Brigadier, and the Third Doctor once took a trick in Bessie to see Crystal Palace play West Ham. The Brig, who preferred rugby, came under protest. (AUDIO: Call to Arms [+]Loading...["Call to Arms (audio story)"])

Donna Noble was a supporter of the club. She learned to whistle by attending the matches every Saturday. (TV: Planet of the Ood [+]Loading...["Planet of the Ood (TV story)"]) When she and the Tenth Doctor attended a party thrown by the High Plenipotentiary of Mundus Canatari, they made up several titles to give Donna a grand entrance, including Sacred Acolyte of the Fraternity of West Ham.
