A political party with the initial Z was one of parties in Weimar Germany. As well as the DVP, KPD, SPD and NSDAP, they fought the elections of July and November 1932. (AUDIO: The Alchemists)

The Z party is the Centre Party, or Zentrum, a Catholic party. After the Second World War, the party reformed but it never regained its 1930s status and remains a marginal party in German politics.
