White Robot
The White Robots were a force controlled by the Master of the Land of Fiction or the Master Brain. They patroled the White Void outside the Land but also serviced the Master in his castle within the Land. They possessed beams inside their chests that could disorient or destroy targets. While they may not have been characters, they were still connected to the Land (or the Master Brain) and if it was destroyed so were they. (TV: The Mind Robber)
White Robots also existed within the real universe, guarding a ship during a slave trade. With the help of the Second Doctor, Jamie McCrimmon, and Zoe Heriot, the slaves revolted, killing most of the robots. (COMIC: Prisoners of Time)
The White Robots were later made to serve the Cybermen and were more advanced than previously seen. Since Zoe brought the Cybermen to the Land and rebuilt the Master Brain, the robots may have been "disconnected" from the Brain and so easily reprogrammable. (AUDIO: Legend of the Cybermen)
Jason, a later Master, had the White Robots accost Ace in the Void and used two to bring the Seventh Doctor to him. (PROSE: Conundrum)
- It was unclear if the Clockwork Soldiers were the White Robots' manifestation within the Land since the two groups were never seen together. It was later shown they were two different robots. (AUDIO: Legend of the Cybermen)
Behind the scenes
- Originally dark-coloured but re-painted, the robot props actually came from an episode of another BBC Television science fiction series, Out of the Unknown, called "The Prophet".
