- The author of boys' stories for the Ensign magazine vanishes from his home in England, transported to the Land of Fiction, where he becomes the Master of the Land. He later returns after being freed by the Doctor ("The Mind Robber").
- Marriage of Ann Talbot and Lord Charles Cranleigh, whom the Doctor met during Black Orchid. The Doctor attends the reception, at Cranleigh Hall in Oxfordshire. (MA:The Sands of Time)
- June
- The novel The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, by Agatha Christie, is published. The plot of this book would later form an unconscious template for the actions of a vespiform who encountered Christie and the Doctor later in the year. (DW: The Unicorn and the Wasp)
- 2nd June - The SS Bernice sets sail from Bombay.
- 4th June - The SS Bernice vanishes from the Indian Ocean, becoming an exhibit in Vorg's Mini-Scope, together with a plesiosaurus from 150 million years earlier ("Carnival of Monsters").
