Sonic lipstick

The sonic lipstick was a device regularly employed by Sarah Jane Smith after she stopped traveling with the Doctor. A gift from the Doctor, it presumably had qualities and abilities similar to the Doctor's sonic screwdriver.
Its shape allowed it to pass unnoticed among the personal effects of a 21st century human woman. Like the Doctor's sonic screwdriver, the sonic lipstick could not open anything with a deadlock seal; unlike the Doctor's, it emitted a red light instead of a blue one. The device may have been weaker than the Doctor's: it was described by the Slitheen as a sonic disruptor.
Sarah Jane has used it to open and close doors, send an electrical charge, and cut cables. She claimed she could destroy the Gorgon's portal key with sonic disruptions from the lipstick, but this may have been a bluff.
During the events of DW:Journey's End, Sarah Jane used the device to get through a door and escape the testing of the reality bomb.
Continuity
It is possible that when River Song mentions a red setting on the Sonic Screwdriver, she refers to Sarah Jane's Sonic Lipstick. However, no difference in the two devices has been seen so far.
Toy Replica
