The Bloodhunter was a artificially created life form.

Biology

The Bloodhunter was a short, squat humanoid, hairless and with skin the colour of raw meat. When wounded, it oozed a thick, clear jelly. It had long powerful arms with big, clawed hands. Its head consists of a fleshy stump with a small cluster of eyes and a group of tendrils beneath them, which it extended to suck its victims dry. (PROSE: Fear of the Dark)

History

Ravus Oldeman created it by combining DNA samples collected from the surface of Akoshemon with human DNA and force generating the resulting life form, in an attempt to create a creature capable of autonomous self-stasis. Unfortunately, the creature turned out to have incredible physical strength and an insatiable appetite for blood, which it drained from humans using its tendrils. (PROSE: Fear of the Dark)
