Helen Raynor
Helen Raynor was a script editor and writer during the first four series of the BBC Wales version of Doctor Who. Hired simultaneously with Elwen Rowlands, she is effectively "tied" for the title of "first female script editor on Doctor Who", although Rowlands was technically assigned to the initial production block.[1] Later, she wrote Daleks in Manhattan and Evolution of the Daleks, consequently becoming the first woman to write a televised Dalek story. She also wrote The Sontaran Stratagem and The Poison Sky, thus also becoming the first woman to write a Sontaran story. She was the only script editor for Steven Moffat, prior to his ascension to the position of head writer.
She was also a writer and script editor on the first two series of Torchwood, penning the episodes Ghost Machine and To the Last Man.
