Theory:Doctor Who audio discontinuity and plot holes/Smoke and Mirrors
From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
- This story, told by Tegan Jovanka, features the Season 19 TARDIS crew of Tegan, Adric and Nyssa. Adric in particular places it very specifically. Unfortunately, the villain here is revealed to be The Master. Unfortunate because the Master appears in the first( Castrovalva (TV story)) and last (Time-Flight (TV story)) stories of Season 19. And, as Adric dies before Time-Flight in Earthshock (TV story) that narrows down the placing. This all comes apart, however, because the Doctor's first words upon discovering who "Kalid" is in Time-Flight are:
So you escaped from Castrovalva. I should have guessed.
Meaning that Time-Flight (TV story) is the first time they have seen each other since Castrovalva (TV story).
- One could speculate that had the Eleventh Doctor not interfered in his past in the Destiny of the Doctor series, this additional meeting between Five and the Master would not have taken place. Which is to say, Time-Flight (TV story) has been slightly overwritten by this story, unpleasant though the idea is.
