Cast & Characters

Notes

  1. This is a short sketch for the charity Children in Need.
  2. In addition to the broadcast, this story was available for viewing on the BBC's website until 25 November, 2005, when the link was removed.
  3. It is the only episode (other than The Edge of Destruction, to be set entirely in the TARDIS with only the Doctor and companions in it.
  4. The pre-credits sequence for the mini-episode was a montage of the climactic scenes of The Parting of the Ways.
  5. Post-regeneration instability has been present, to varying degrees, in every one of the Doctor's regenerations.
  6. The ringing sound that echoes through the console room near the end of the episode is the sound of the TARDIS's Cloister Bell, first heard in Logopolis. Its ringing is supposed to signal an impending universal disaster.
  7. The online feed of the mini-episode ended with several pre-recorded inserts of Tennant and Piper appealing for donations to Children in Need. The appeals in which they both appear are flippant in tone, with Piper claiming to be Tennant and vice versa in the first, and in the second the pair introducing themselves as Letitia Dean and Nicholas Lyndhurst.

Continuity

  • This story has no date, as the entire story is set travelling through space and time.

Discontinuity

  • The Doctor says about Captain Jack "he's busy, he's got plenty to do, rebuilding the Earth" implying that he knows Jack is alive and well, or wants Rose to think he is, as at the time he has no way of knowing Jack's alive.
