Father William was the abbot of a London abbey. In 1400, he was part of a conspiracy to return Richard II to the throne. Ian Chesterton was brought to him by Sir Robert de Wensley who wanted to ingratiate himself with the abbot and his allies to gain their confidence. (AUDIO: The Doctor's Tale)
