Ada Obiefune
Ada Obiefune was the wife of Ijezie Obiefune and mother of Alice Obiefune.
Ada was a cornerstone in her daughter's life. (COMIC: After Life) She loved delta blues, jazz, and reggae. Her favorite musician was John Jones, a pop singer from the 1960s. (COMIC: What He Wants...)
At some point after Ada became pregnant with Alice, her husband died and she raised their daughter as a single mother. During a visit to his grave, Alice was crying and Ada explained to her daughter her moral philosophy that if something is wrong, one must speak up about it. Alice revealed that Maddie Potter's father expressed that Ada and her husband should "go back to where [they] came from." (COMIC: Whodunnit?) In June 1962, Ada reiterated that message to Alice. Alice took care of Ada for several years before she passed away prior to August 2014. (COMIC: After Life)
Impersonation
Knowing Alice's desire for her mother to be alive again, the talent scout took Ada's form and convinced Alice that he was her mother, back from the dead. Alice later remembered that her "mother" did not recognize John Jones when they met, despite Jones being her all time favorite musician, and it made Alice realize that the person she thought was her mother couldn't be. (COMIC: The Eternal Dogfight / The Infinite Astronaut) The talent scout taunted Alice by impersonating Ada again after a TARDIS explosion separated her from the Doctor in a separate dimension. (COMIC: Four Dimensions)
