The Journal of Impossible Things seems to be set to appear once more in the fourth 2009 special, as indicated from photographs from filming which have appeared online. A book with that title, featuring a fob watch on the cover, is published by a woman named Verity Newman, portrayed by Jessica Hynes who previously appeared as Joan Redfern. This may mean that she finds a way to go into the future. This last bit is pure speculation. She could be a descendant, or some other explanation.
