I'm not certain that the various prose stories ought to be counted as canon in all cases. A lot of continuity just doesn't work with established fact, as it has been televised. Maybe using a different font, or noting that the information is only tentatively acceptable? I think that the information, as presented in the televised stories, ought to be kept as it is, regardless of what the prose additions might claim is the correct history. Considering that the new series challenges much of the timeline for the novels, especially regarding UNIT's history, I am dubious about including Peter David's story as being canon about Arthur's World and having it supersede the information given in the show.
