Vernon Dobtcheff played the Chief Scientist in the Doctor Who television story The War Games.

He later voiced Dadda Desaka in the Big Finish Doctor Who audio story The Cradle of the Snake, Sibelius Crow in the Big Finish Jago and Litefoot audio story The Necropolis Express, Shamur in the Big Finish Doctor Who audio story The Children of Seth and Professor Heinrich Schumann in the Counter-Measures audio story Threshold.

Dobtcheff has been acting since the 1950's, appearing in over three hundred and forty productions. His many television credits included roles on Dixon of Dock Green, The Troubleshooters, The Saint, The Champions, Out of the Unknown, The Avengers, Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, Churchill's People, The Sweeney, Crown Court, Blake's 7, Rumpole of the Bailey and Van der Valk. His film appearances included The Spy Who Loved Me and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
