A room-divider screen in the Rani's TARDIS, painted in the style of Turner's Eruption of Souffrier, produced mustard gas from the volcano's top to stop intruders. In June 1816, the Eighth Doctor recognised the year by recalling Turner's paintings of blood-red sunsets, which were common that year due to the eruption of Tambora the year prior. According to the Eighth Doctor, Turner never properly cleaned his paintbrushes. (AUDIO: Mary's Story)
