Reuben Whormby
Reuben Whormby worked as a keeper of Fang Rock lighthouse alongside Vince Hawkins and the principal keeper, Ben Travers. After finding out about Ben's death, Reuben went into the boiler room, where he was murdered and copied, formally, by a Rutan scout. When the Rutan took his appearance, it killed Lord Palmerdale, James Skinsale, Adelaide Lessage, Harker and Vince Hawkins. (TV: Horror of Fang Rock)
Over the years, it became the received wisdom that Reuben was responsible for the deaths; an old keeper at his end, driven mad by desperation. His ghostly voice haunted the lighthouse until May 1969, when it finally manifested to Jennie Rudge first, and latterly to others including Anne Travers and Colonel Lethbridge-Stewart.
