Transcendental beings were powerful entities who lived outside the spatial universe.

Biology

Transcendental beings were made out of the very matter of time, with a polymorphic lattice of photinos and chronons bound together by super-strings. They had incredible powers, though they had difficulties interacting with normal life. Though they could reach the spatial universe, they normally lived in the Calabi-Yau Space and the Time Vortex. (PROSE: The Quantum Archangel)

The powers of transcendental beings seemed to be generally consistent. Both the Guardians and the Chronovores had the ability to manipulate time and take on any appearance they wished, while both the Eternals and Chronovores could pull individuals out of their normal time and place. (TV: Enlightenment/PROSE: No Future)

Additionally there were powers consistent amoung the Great Old Ones and the Guardians respectfully, but whether these were shared across all transcendental beings is unclear, as they were not a true "species" in the normal understanding.

Interaction with the normal universe

Though stated in reference to the Guardians and Chronovores, the god-like powers of transcendental beings meant they were not bound by physical laws but rather codes of conduct. (PROSE: No Future) Eternals viewed Ephemerals (mortals) as toys to be used as diversions from the boredom of eternity. (TV: Enlightenment) They, like others including the Celestial Toymaker and Fenric, enjoyed playing games with the universe, (TV: The Celestial Toymaker, The Curse of Fenric) while the Chronovores and the Gods of Ragnarok found entertainment in lesser species. (PROSE: No Future/TV: The Greatest Show in the Galaxy)

Types of transcendental beings

The Guardians of Time

The Guardians of Time were the most important beings in the Calabi-Yau Space. The existence of the Guardians was known to only a few advanced species. Among those were the Time Lords and the Eternals, who called them Enlighteners. Though they each personified different concepts, they were all part of the Six-Fold God. (TV: Enlightenment, PROSE: The Quantum Archangel)

The Old Ones

The Old Ones were cruel and dangerous beings who tried to conquer reality. They played a more active role in the normal universe than other Transcendental Beings. (PROSE: The Quantum Archangel)

Their name reflects their supposed one-to-one relationship to certain of the "Old Ones" of H.P.Lovecraft's Mythos.
