Hello to everyone.

I'm an admin, so any problems or questions that are vexing chuck them on My talk page, if I can't help I'll try and point you in a direction which can.

Also, I occasionally get things wrong, tell me and I'll explain or correct the mistakes.

I often keep an eye of the Recent Changes page, checking recent edits by unknown users or IP edits and correcting as I do so. (Which is why it may seem like I'm following everyone's recent edits around...I am)

I've been fan for sometime, and have a relatively good knowledge of the Doctor Who Universe, though I do have gaps, I haven't been following The Sarah Jane Adventures very closely, nor the Ninth or Tenth Doctor Adventures (published by BBC Books), I've still looked over the pages to make sure they're up to the Manual of Style, but no real content edits from me on those fronts.

I can get a bit obsessive and methodical and usually start with one page in a line (of novels/audios/TV stories) and then focus on one portion of it (like the external links or the images), go through a long line and fix just that, and then go and fix the rest. (Which is why the Virgin New Adventures, BBC Eighth Doctor Adventures, Virgin Bernice Summerfield New Adventures and the Big Finish Bernice Summerfield Series have a hand or two of mine in their (individual page) creation/major work.

I've also been working to make sure that any novels, audios and TV shows all conform to the Manual of Style.

Favourite Additions

  • One of my favourite recent additions is The Doctor Who Cookbook which is actually sitting on my shelf, one of the oddest pieces of Doctor Who publishing...with some quite good recipes.
  • The Alcohol, Tea, and Coffee pages which I'm also quite happy with (and all the useless knowledge they bring).
  • Also I'm quite pleased with The Dark Dimension, mainly because it's all accurately researched with proper citing of sources and all that jazz. I've gone to some lengths to research Black Sheep (who produced the covers for all the BBC's EDA and PDA novels and I's quite happy with the various authors opinions on that article.
  • I've just found another article that I'd forgotten about, Teleportaphobia, this I like just for the information it has, it brings a whole new light to all the matter transmitting that goes on throughout Doctor Who.

Other recent work

I have finally finished updating all the classic series from the standard TV infobox to the ClassicTV infobox, plus clearing up all the articles (from An Unearthly Child to the TVM) to the manual of style, adding in all various links, making sure they're all arranged in the correct and same order, sorting out references and continuity from one another. But it's finally finished! (I realised somewhere near the end that a Timeline section would be a good thing to put on many of the TV story articles to fit in other stories (books, audios, comics etc) in between...ah well another marathon to go with at some point).

  • I will at some point soon go back over Series 1 (Doctor Who) to Series 4 checking over everything again, plus Torchwood as well. (When I get motivated again).

Recent Work - Additional

Added all licensing tags to the MediaWiki:Licenses, which is used on the drop down license menu when you upload images, so hopefully no more looking through Tardis:Copyright tags page for them. Previously there were just the default ones, most of which didn't exist. But now it's all fixed.

What I'm currently mucking around with

2009

  • I've recently been mucking around with Tardis:Help pages, which because of the wikia 'Shared Help' feature were really mucked with in the style and layout stakes. Basically the wikia shared help just added 'shared help' to these pages, which are default across all the wikias. But it messed around with a lot of the TARDIS Wiki specific content, so it was moved to fix this.
  • Additionally I've been going through the help sections trying to improve the various pages, and other pages in the Category:TARDIS Index File Wiki many of which haven't been updated for a year or two.

Other Info

  • I don't care that much about rumours, supposition or any wanderings on the net and elsewhere.
  • Articles need to be written from actual sources, Rumours don't count as "sources".
  • Supposition or 'stuff that will probably happen based on these sheep entrails' (or alternatively stuff that hasn't been released for general media consumption) doesn't count either.
  • I'm no great fan of copying huge chunks from wikipedia, the point (as I see it) is to be creating something unique here, not just a copy of any given Wikipedia entry.
