Kurt Wurlitzer was one of the universe's wealthiest property tycoons, and one of its most powerful men. He was director of Wurlitzer Co, and was busy on a massive construction project on Quotron when his twenty-year-old son, Jason Wurlitzer, was kidnapped by dwarfs on a jungle planet.
He enlisted the Second Doctor to lead a rescue mission to save his son, with a team of experts from all over the universe of his choice. On the Doctor's request, he got big game hunter Hik Wellar, jail breaker "Fingers" O'Flannegan and Professor Neob Frankel from the Advanced Space Travel Institute to assist on the mission.
