Professor Neob Frankel, of the Advanced Space Travel Institute, was requested for specifically by the Second Doctor for his mission to save Jason Wurlitzer from dwarfs. He found the challenge given to him by Kurt Wurlitzer "most intriguing", and insisted that money was of no consequence.
The Professor provided the team with a special rubber vehicle from the Space Institute, which could enter the planet of the dwarfs without being detected, as it was designed to absorb radio waves. Led by the Doctor, Professor Frankel travelled with the others for two days through a dense jungle, and helped to rescue young Wurlitzer. (COMIC: Operation Wurlitzer)
