Sir John Arundell was the architect behind Sir Archibald Flint's home, built in 1571. According to Sir Archibald, his gable facade was the earliest of its kind in the country.
This house was eventually gifted to Sir Archibald's family by Charles II in the 17th century, in recognition of their support during the civil war. (AUDIO: The Spectre of Lanyon Moor)
