Following World War II, Germany was partitioned into East Germany, which was controlled of the Soviet Union, and West Germany, which was administered by the rest of the Allies. Democratic uprisings in the Eastern Bloc countries resulted in the fall of the Berlin Wall on 9 November 1989 as well as the reunification of Germany and the collapse of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s. (AUDIO: Protect and Survive; COMIC: The Broken Man)
