A conceptual entity was a being or weapon (sometimes both) engineered to be only a concept, with no actual substance.

Examples include anarchitects, gargoyles and shifts. The Celestis turned themselves into completely conceptual beings, and became experts in the creation of the entities. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
