Due to information from unreleased stories being leaked prior to release date, the page Series 9 (Doctor Who) has been locked. Please carefully read the following instructions:

  • If you have information about a story that has been released, please post it here and it will be added to the page.
  • If you have information about a story that has not yet been released, do not post it here, do not post it in the forums, do not post it on any admin talk pages. To do so would be a violation of Tardis:Spoiler policy. Instead, if you wish something added to the page, please go to Howling:The Howling with the information.

This is not a measure we normally need to take, but when information has been leaked about upcoming stories, we often lock the series page to protect it. This happened with series 8. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Should we add Prologue as another mini-episode for Series 9? --Bold Clone 14:35, September 11, 2015 (UTC)

It is a short story that is part of the timeline in which Doctor Who is written, so yes. It is a mini-episode of sorts. --DCLM 15:28, September 11, 2015 (UTC)

Since Prologue is an officially released webcast prequel, it should be added to the mini episodes section and Clare Higgins needs to be moved from the guest cast to the recurring cast due to her reprising her role as Ohila in Prologue. Mewiet 21:12, September 13, 2015 (UTC)

Ohila?

Has it been confirmed that the actress is playing that character? I thought it was announced earlier that she's playing someone else? I might have missed the memo, though. The version of the prologue I saw online had no credits so maybe there's a version with credits or the BBC has announced the information elsewhere... 68.146.52.234talk to me 15:17, September 14, 2015 (UTC)

Clare Higgins talks about being asked back to play Ohila in the Doctor Who Extra made about Prologue, which has also been officially released by the BBC. Mewiet 16:11, September 14, 2015 (UTC)

Rumours

In the rumours section of the article it states " It is rumoured that <removed by admin per Tardis:Spoiler policy.> Any chance the page could be changed to confirm/mention this?

Most international filming of any series

With 5 of the 12 episodes featuring scenes shot outside the UK (and I might have missed one), we should note that Series 9 had more international filming than any previously DW season. 68.146.52.234talk to me 16:50, December 5, 2015 (UTC)

Doctor's Notes

Is this noteworthy?: http://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/doctor-who-special-doctors-notes-episodes-coming-next-month/ --DCLM 15:14, January 1, 2016 (UTC)

Error removed

I removed an erroneous statement saying that Episode 12 "closed the door on future appearances". Actually, no it didn't, with Capaldi, Moffat and Coleman all saying that the open-ended nature left the door open. All the "she can never come back" statements were made prior to the broadcast of Hell Bent in order to protect the spoiler, as evidenced by the fact after Face the Raven Capaldi was interviewed for a preview clip and said Clara can never come back, but then after her true fate is revealed, a second clip from the same interview now had him saying he was glad that that the possibility now exists for her to come back. Whether that happens or not of course remains to be seen; <removed by admin per Tardis:Spoiler policy.> 23skidoo 03:04, November 25, 2016 (UTC)

Two-Parters

Was it ever decided by the wiki whether or not we should count The Girl Who Died and The Woman Who Lived as a two-parter? And should we count Heaven Sent and Hell Bent as a two-parter? I know there has been mountains of discussion about this question at Wikipedia's "Series 9" page. --Bold Clone 03:27, July 23, 2017 (UTC)

This is part of a bigger issue addressed in the forums. In Thread:164173, CzechOut stated that we will try to come up with a rule for two-parters in Thread:183627. This thread has not yet been resolved, partially because many of the proposed solutions require way too many qualifications and are not really future-proofed. Shambala108 03:39, July 23, 2017 (UTC)
OK, sounds good. Just wanted to know if I could help out there in any way. Thanks. --Bold Clone 04:07, July 23, 2017 (UTC)
