On 24 January, the following important behind-the-scenes events were known to have occurred:
- 1963 - Having been handed its script 18 days earlier, David Whitaker rejected the story line of Moris Farhi's scrapped episode The Fragile Yellow Arc of Fragrance as unsuitable for Doctor Who.
- 2003 - Recording for Doctor Who and the Pirates took place at The Moat Studios.
- 2012 - Recording for Gods and Monsters took place at The Moat Studios.
