Mountford was a friend of Beatrice. She consoled Beatrice when her father died. She was there when a spectral child appeared in the house. She warned the Fourth Doctor and Romana II not to provoke the spirits. She thought it was strange to have a second seance. Romana thought it was strange that she left so quickly.
