The label Type 102 or 102-form was applied to at least two types of TARDIS.

Long before the War, (PROSE: The Shadows of Avalon) Epsilon Delta stole a Type 102 TARDIS from Gallifrey and fled to Earth. He found its best features to be its highly reliable chameleon circuit and voice-activated lock. This particular TARDIS featured a console shaped like an upturned cone, with a flat top and the central column was a spiral with touch sensitive controls. The TARDIS's roundels were more compact than those found in older TARDISes. (PROSE: The Dimension Riders)

Later, model numbers were standardised, (PROSE: The Book of the War) and "Type 102" was now used to refer to the first humanoid and sentient TARDIS, who would "mother" all Type 103s. The Eighth Doctor's companion Compassion became the Type 102 after her Remote receiver picked up signals from the TARDIS that warped her biodata. (PROSE: The Shadows of Avalon)
