Plot

Part 1

Sarah Jane gives an overview of her life and tells how life on Earth is just as exciting as travelling the stars. Sarah Jane is speaking with the head of a nano technology company about growing Nanoforms before being thrown out. Luke and Clyde are playing football and Rani comes over, just as a "meteor" crashes onto the Earth. The gang go to investigate after talking with Mr. Smith, discovering that the "meteor" was really a Judoon ship, that had released a lifepod before it crashed, containing a Judoon and its prisoner. The prisoner named Androvax escapes and, using his ability as a Veil lifeform, hides inside a young girl's body, having placed her mother in a trance state. The gang, after receiving the background on the crash from Captain Tybo, hear the scream which Sarah Jane and Clyde investigate, while Luke and Rani guard the Captain. After receiving a booklet from Sarah Jane about the company "Genetic Systems", Gita decides to leave some plants inside the building, bringing Haresh along with her. As she and Clyde comfort the little girl, Sarah Jane calls Luke to ask him and Rani to distract Tybo, while she finds out where Androvax has taken her mother. Soon after, Sarah Jane's watch begins to beep and she reveals that she had been scanning the girl, breaking Androvax's cover. In return, he removes himself from the girl's body and slips into Sarah Jane's, before placing Clyde in a trance and leaving. Captain Tybo, Rani and Luke find Clyde and get a police car and drive to Bannerman Road, where the now evil Sarah Jane had been before leaving for Genetic Systems, where she talked to Mr York about the Nanoforms. Captain Tybo. Rani, Luke and Clyde got to the attic only to discover that Mr Smith was going to self-destruct in 60 seconds and destroy all of Bannerman Road.

Part 2

Captain Tybo is going to blast Mr Smith but Luke manages to stop the countdown. He tells Luke, Rani, Tybo and Clyde were Sarah is - Genetic System Labs. Gita and Haresh have been arrested by the security guard there and when Sarah Jane realeases the nanoformes into the air to build the Androvax's ship the building in on high alert and the guard leaves. They escape. Luke, Rani and Clyde arrive with Tybo and Rani sees Gita and Haresh and hide. Then they lock the Judoon Captain in a room where his weapon's don't work and find Sarah Jane. Then the Judoon arrive and Haresh and Gita see them and they follow them, before Gita realizes the guard has taken her phone and they look for it. Luke is captured by Sarah Jane and she sets the nanoformes on Clyde and Rani. They defeat them with a fire extinguishor and nearly bump into the Judoon and run into the Androvax's ship where Sarah Jane and Luke are. Luke bargins the Androvax to release his mum to get the crystal to power his ship, because he has to leave soon. He leaves the body just as the Judoon arrive and arrest him. References

  • Captain Tybo refers to Androvax as the Destroyer of Worlds, the Doctor was also called this by Davros in Journey's End.
  • Clyde jokes that Tybo is an "intergalactic PC Plod", referring to the character from the Noddy books by Enid Blyton. It's a common derogatory term for the police in the United Kingdom.
  • The Nanoforms are similar to the Nanoprobes from Star Trek which are used to assimilate people into Borg, Nanoprobes can also create starships, multiply and fix peoples bodies like the Nanoforms.
  • Rani mentions Mrs Wormwood and the events of the last episode of the previous season.
  • Mr Smith mentions Roswell and Dreamland. This is the first time that plotlines for future episodes have been pre-referenced (at least with the production team's knowledge of future use), as Roswell and Dreamland are set to be involved in an upcoming animated serial aptly titled Dreamland that, at the time this episode was broadcast, was in late production stages.

Myths

  • Sarah Jane becomes evil for these episodes. She is taken over by a Veil.
  • It was rumoured that K9 would appear but never did.

Discontinuity, Plot Holes, Errors

  • How does Sarah Jane know about both the Judoon and the Shadow Proclamation?
  • How does Androvax know English without any translation? She took control of the little girl first, learning everything about her including her language
  • Rani's parents refer to the Judoon as rhinos before seeing one take their helmet off. Their helmets are shaped like rhino heads though and Tybo was wearing the same suit as the others.
  • When did Mr. Smith have time to tell Luke about the ship that wasn't even built at the time Luke talked to Mr. Smith? Mr Smith tells Luke that Sarah Jane used him to access the plans of the ship that had crashed at Roswell and is being held at the Dreamland military base in Nevada. He shows Luke the plans of the ship, explaining that Androvax intends to use the Nanoforms to recreate the ship so that he can escape the Judoon. Luke explains this to Androvax when he's trying to persuade the Veil lifeform to let Sarah Jane go free again.
  • In Smith and Jones the Judoon have come to arrest a criminal charged with a murder and at least two spaceships full of them come to arrest her. In this episode however, the Judoon are attempting to capture a criminal charged with the destruction of multiple worlds and only five Judoon (including Tybo) come to arrest him. Why is this?Androvax had already been captured and Tybo was presumably escourting him to the Shadow Proclamation. The four Judoon who appear after Tybo are the closest to Earth and arrive first while other fleets are still on their way.
  • Why is Androvax escourted away instead of being tried and executed on the spot as Florence Finnegan was in Smith and Jones. The punishment for murder is different for destroying planets. Which explains why Tybo was escourting Androvax in the first place.
  • Why are humans irrelevant, however all minor laws by humans such as "Authorized Personal Only" or parking tickets not? Murdering humans doesn't seem to be illegal for them.
