Synopsis

The year is 2059. In the derelict attic of 13, Bannerman Road, an elderly Rani Chandra tells the story of the day she met the alien Eve, and her life went wrong.

References

• Eve refers to her race being targeted by both sides in a war and many being "exterminated" because of their ability to read the "Timelines". This is a reference to the Time War.
• Eve mentions two races fighting in a war. Most likely Time Lords and the Daleks
• "Older Rani" talks about the time before people became truly aware of aliens. Cybermen and Daleks are mentioned.
• Many references are made to Maria Jackson and Rani's fears of being compared to her. This is also touched upon by Mrs Wormwood in DW: Enemy of the Bane.
• In the fun park, there are pictures of many characters from other shows. As well as logos. Some of them are Mickey Mouse, Pluto, and the Warner Bros. logo.

• Since Eve said about playing games in the trailer, some people thought she was related to the Celestial Toymaker or the Isolus.

Discontinuity, Plot Holes, Errors

• When Eve scans Rani's mind a Gorgon appears: the Gorgon appeared in series 1, but Rani appeared in series 2. She was also scanning Sarah Jane's mind and Lukes mind at the same time, 'ship' was but its almost the same thing.
• How can Rani narrate events which she is not a part of? (She could have found out about them later on.)
• Clips of The Five Doctors is shown but Sarah was supposed to have forgotton about that adventure The clips are of her, on Earth, she was only going to the shops, she said as much to K9MKIII and that was what she remembered, as she was on Earth, her car was in the garrage so she had to walk, and was taken by the time scoop
• How did Rani get a new phone so quickly? Some time would have pasted since Prisoner of the Judoon, so there would have been plenty of time to get a new phone.

• Images of the Bane, Slitheen, The Trickster, Captain Tybo, and Kaagh are seen when Eve views Rani's thoughts.
• Visions of Sarah-Jane's past include clips from DW:The Time Warrior (her first story), DW:Planet of the Spiders, DW:The Hand of Fear (her last regular story) and DW:The Five Doctors.

• K-9 appears for the first time since From Raxacoricofallapatorius With Love. This marks his first appearance in Series Three. Since he is out of the black hole, he is going to be in six more episodes in the series, with a full appearance instead of cameos.
