The Academicians for Game Logic were a Homeworld group created to study the War in Heaven using game theory.
Devonire was appointed to be the first of the Academicians thirty-two years before the start of the War. Since the Homeworld and the enemy had essentially unlimited resources, the War made no sense unless it was thought of as a game or ritual. The Academicians were dedicated to understanding and winning that game.
The Houses' pre-War love affair with deconstruction and game logic produced a great age of intellectual progress and development on the Homeworld. However, they abandoned the notions soon after the fighting began. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
