Epzo was an Muxteran pilot who participated in the final Rally of the Twelve Galaxies. He scooped the Thirteenth Doctor and Yaz from space, when he hyperjumped across space to Desolation, the final planet in the Rally and the finish line, whilst racing the Albarian Angstrom.

He argued with the Doctor criticising his ship, the Cerebos for it's shoddy works, and noticed the planet had shifted orbit. The Doctor convinced him to jettison the rear section to save up more fuel to land, which Epzo reluctantly conceded. The Doctor, Epzo and Yaz managed to crash-land on Desolation, and meet up with Graham, Ryan and Angstrom, making them the only two finalists. They met up with a hologram of the race master Ilin, who told them to cross the planet to the 'Ghost Monument', in order to win.

Epzo planned to take a boat for himself and take out Angstrom, but the Doctor stunned him with venusian aikido, and all of them used the boat to cross a lake of flesh-eating microbes. When Graham asks him why is he so miserable, Epzo recalls when he was four, his mother made him climb a tree and told him to jump from it, promising to catch him. However, she failed to do so, causing Epzo to be injured in the fall, teaching him not to trust anyone. However he still loved his mum, and appreciated what she taught him.

When they got to the ruins of a research centre, he tried to race and beat Angstrom and the others, but was shot by a SniperBot. Whilst exploring the tunnels underneath the ruins, he decided to take a power nap, and was almost suffocated by a Remnant, a bio-engineered creation of destruction made by captured scientists in the research centre. The Remnants cornered them on the surface, but Epzo sacrificed his rare self-igniting Althusian cigar, (which he was planning to celebrate his win with) to ignite the acetylene gas around them, saving them. The Thirteenth Doctor convinced the two to set aside their conflict, for a joint win with Angstrom. He even promised to hunt down Ilin if he refused. He was teleported away with Ilin and Angstrom.
