Athletes and sportspeople are those people whose primary vocation or avocation are athletic endeavours or sports. Thus people practising a wide variety of activities — from energetic sprinters and football players, to golfers and snooker players — are included here. The individual need not be a professional to be included here; if they have a love of a sport or athletic event, and they regularly practise it, they can be in this group.
