Weeeeelll.... strictly speaking, all Kate Stewart does is refer to her father talking about the Doctor "to the end". She doesn't say "he died in a nursing home just before you phoned". It could be argued that the Brig faked his death when he went offf to Avalon, or that the chances of his returning are so slim that Kate already thinks of him as dead. It's a stretch, I'll admit, but there's nothing *specific* so far (that I know of) that definitely stops the two versions of his life from being forced into consistency86.148.8.212talk to me 17:37, May 1, 2013 (UTC)
- Indeed, as we now know (I'm writing this more for the sake of future readers), Death in Heaven shows the Brigadier's resurrection, albeit as a Cyberman, so the Power of Three death didn't stick even by strictly-televised-New-Who continuity.
- It's not hard to imagine that something offscreen happened to restore the Cyberbrig to full humanity (after all, the boy Danny killed was fully brought back to life after being a Nethersphere Cyberman, so there's a precedent even if the mechanics would have to be a little different for the Brig), bringing his timeline back into order.

Year 2021
At the bottom of the page there is a note:
"The Brigadier, at Sarah Jane's wedding in 2010, is said to be back in Peru, but by 2021, his daughter Kate confirms he is dead, meaning he passed away between 2010 and 2021."

2020
Currently on the article it says:
- Lethbridge-Stewart died sometime before 2020. (TV: The Power of Three)
Where does the date 2020 come from? It's not mentioned on The Power of Three article and there's no reference to the Brig on the 2020 article either. --Tangerineduel / talk 12:37, October 19, 2013 (UTC)
- It's extrapolation. Amy says that time according to her has been ten years from "Leadworth" to that episode, meaning it's no later than 2020, and likely a lot earlier seeing as I think the end of A Town Called Mercy mentions that Amy's travelled for long enough that she may be ageing at a different rate to her friends on Earth.
- No year is stated in the episode at all, but Three's mentioning the Brig's death means it can't be any later than 2020, and is almost certainly not too many years after 2012, even if Three doesn't give a specific year. -- Tybort (talk page) 14:00, October 19, 2013 (UTC)

River

Surely River only met two incarnations so far, as far as we're aware (10 & 11)? I may have missed something but I don't remember any reference to her meeting the others. We know she didn't meet any of them pre-Tennant or he would have recognised her in Silence in the Library. She may well meet a lot of his future incarnations, but we have no way of knowing if it's going to be more than the Brig. - He was mentioned in the episode. The 11th was dodging his "inevitable" murder at Lake Silencio, and when he tried to visit his old friend was told that the Brigadier had died in his sleep several months before. It was a reference to Nicholas Courtenay's death, of course, but in the story it was the catalyst for the Doctor realizing that he had to face the inevitable. 208.71.235.4talk to me 16:24, April 8, 2015 (UTC)

"General"
Continuing what was said on the archives in 2011, even though he's promoted to general according to some valid sources, don't most post-retirement and posthumous stories address even his full name and title with "Brigadier", and ignore the "General" entirely? For instance, The Wedding of River Song:
- Nurse: Doctor, I'm so sorry. We didn't know how to contact you. I'm afraid Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart passed away a few months ago.
And The Day of the Doctor:
- Kate: Somewhere in your memory is a man called Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart. I'm his daughter.
