John Bleak was Professor of History at the University of Frodsham. He was married to Dr Philippa Stone. In 1983, he organised a conference about Queen Æthelfrid where he was transported back to Mercia in 918 with Tegan Jovanka by his wife's time machine. (AUDIO: The Lady of Mercia)
