Clara Oswin Oswald's epitaph reads, "Remember me, for we shall meet again". (TV: The Snowmen)

An epitaph was a written inscription, usually carved into a gravestone, which commemorated the life or death of whomever was buried beneath. (AUDIO: Emissary of the Daleks)

Peri Brown liked to read the epitaphs on gravestones at her local church graveyard in Baltimore. She remembered that many began with "Here lies..." Peri found them all sad, but sweet. (AUDIO: Emissary of the Daleks)

Captain Briggs once sarcastically stated that she had composed a "particularly nasty epitaph" for Ringway after she incapacitated him, noting that it was a "pity" he was recovering from the blow. (TV: Earthshock)
