- The Doctor finally manages to deliver his companion, Tegan Jovanka, to Heathrow Airport, where he gets drawn into an investigation into the disappearance of a supersonic jet. The Time Lord discovers that the plane has been transported back millions of years into the past through a time corridor. Who is Kalid and what is his insane plan? What has happened to the Xeraphin? And will Tegan ever get back home?

- In the 1980s, following the Brigadiers retirement in 1977, UNIT was run by a secret Whitehall office named Department C19. (Time-Flight)
- The turbo-powered supersonic passenger jet from Aerospatiale-BAC Concorde was launched in 1976 and retired in 2003.
- Validium was a living metal created by the Time Lords. It could be fashioned into any form and was capable of making its own tactical decisions.
- Actress Jenna-Louise Coleman was born in Blackpool on 27 April 1986.
- Mark Gatiss used the pseudonym 'Rondo Hoxton' when he played the role of Gantok.
- Val worked at Sanderson & Grainger department store in Colchester – home town of Craig Owens. The actress Lynda Baron had previously appeared as Captain Wrack in Time-Flight.
- The Tenth Doctor's first pair of white trainers actually belonged to David Tennant. Red versions were introduced to be worn with his blue suit.
