Wolfgang Pauli

Wolfgang Pauli was a physicist active in Germany in during the early 20th century. His work, along with that of Werner Heisenberg, was closely followed by American scientist Robert Oppenheimer while he was studying physics at Göttingen.

When Oppenheimer returned to the US, he taught much of what he had learned from Pauli and Heisenberg at universities in Caltech and Berkeley. His knowledge in the field meant he was recruited into the Manhattan Project once the US entered the Second World War. (PROSE: Atom Bomb Blues)
