On 4 April, the following important behind-the-scenes events were known to have occurred:
- 1988 - Filming for Remembrance of the Daleks caused a brief panic when a large explosion set off on a London side street during filming of a Dalek battle scene was mistaken as a possible IRA bombing.
- 2005 - The BBC retracted part of its 30 March announcement of the departure of Christopher Eccleston, indicating it released the information with incorrect attribution and without the actor's consent.
- 2017 - Recording for The Blood Furnace took place at The Moat Studios.
- 2018 - Recording for Warlock's Cross took place at The Moat Studios.
