Prince (singer)

Prince, also called the artist-formerly-known-as-Prince, (PROSE: Longest Day) was a singer.

On 14 October 2016, When one of the Shadow Kin asked Tanya Adeola where the prince was, referring to Charlie Smith, the prince of Rhodia, she asked him if he was talking about Prince, the singer. (TV: For Tonight We Might Die)

Prince & the Revolution were a musical group on Earth in the 1980s. They had a song called "When Doves Cry". (PROSE: Remain in Light)

Prince went on to found a religion. (PROSE: So Vile a Sin)

He wore a distinctive moustache, and Sam Jones thought Traxes was a Prince lookalike because of his own moustache. (PROSE: Longest Day)

A witness observed that the Third Doctor looked like Prince from Purple Rain. (PROSE: Jigsaw)

In an alternate timeline, Andy Davidson wondered if a "fella with a face like a fish" thought he was Prince as he took hostages while wearing a purple suit. (AUDIO: The Death of Captain Jack)

Behind the scenes

Bill Potts wore a t-shirt throughout the majority of the The Pilot, as well as the entirety of the short Friend from the Future, featuring the inner sleeve artwork from the Prince album Purple Rain. Like the rest of Bill's wardrobe, it was chosen personally by her actress, Pearl Mackie.

Incidentally, Friend from the Future was broadcast two days after Prince's death, something which was immediately picked up on by fans. Following the broadcast of The Pilot, Mackie revealed the tribute to be entirely coincidental, going on to admit that "it [felt] like quite a nice sort of homage though – even if it was accidental".[1]
