Detector vans were commonly used to locate those who had not paid their TV Licence. The Daleks also used them to locate people who failed to pay their Terry Nation Licence. A Red Dalek arrived at Dalek Inc in a detector van to exterminate two employees because the man had not paid for the company's Terry Nation Licence. (NOTVALID: Doctor Who? 166)
