TV Licence
A message on BBC iPlayer requesting the user to confirm that they have a TV License. (WC: The Zygon Isolation)

BBC iPlayer required a TV License to be used legally. Petronella Osgood claimed to have one when she watched Doctor Who with her Zygon counterpart. (WC: The Zygon Isolation)

On Earth in 200,100, not paying the license was punishable by execution, as a shocked Lynda Moss pointed out when the Ninth Doctor claimed to have not paid for his license as an explanation for not having watched the Bad Wolf Corporation's programming, to which he responded "let them try". (TV: Bad Wolf)

Earth-33⅓[[edit] | [edit source]]

In Earth-33⅓, after a man noted the approach of a detector van, the woman he was with assumed the reason for this was that he had failed to pay his TV Licence. In actuality, he had not paid his Terry Nation Licence and a Red Dalek promptly arrived to exterminate them both for this crime. (COMIC: Doctor Who? 166)

At some point, the BBC also started to employ the Daleks to exterminate those who had not paid their TV licence. (COMIC: Untitled 12)
