Naples was an Italian city, proximate to the city-state of San Martino and the towns of Pompeii (built on the ruins of Civiata) and Posto di Ferragio.

Guests from Naples were expected at the ball held by Count Giuliano in San Martino that the Doctor and Sarah Jane attended in about 1492. (DW: The Masque of Mandragora) Later, it was the intended destination of the Doctor when he took Rose Tyler for her first trip back in her relative history. (DW: The Unquiet Dead) It was also the headquarters for the Society of Sigismondo di Rimini, and close to the site of an invasion by Sutekh the Destoyer and his fellow Osirians. (FP: Coming to Dust)
