Mornington Crescent was across Regent's Park from 107 Baker Street. When questioned under gunpoint in his home by Tommy Dooley about where he came from, the Eighth Doctor spontaneously shouted "Mornington Crescent", and described the route he claimed to have taken. (AUDIO: The White Room)

The crescent lent its name to a station on the London Underground. (PROSE: The Book of the War)

Behind the scenes

  • The BBC comedy show I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue features a nonsensical panel game called Mornington Crescent where contestants take turns saying the names of London Underground stations according to arbitrary and indecipherable rules. The goal of the game is to be the first to announce "Mornington Crescent".
