Anti-radiation gloves were, according to the Seventh Doctor, invented by his first incarnation. (AUDIO: Flip-Flop)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

This is a real-world reference to a so-called "Hartnellism" in The Daleks, in which William Hartnell, in character as the First Doctor, mistakenly told Ian and Barbara that the drugs found outside his TARDIS might have been "anti-radiation gloves." He quickly corrected himself: "anti-radiation drugs."
