The Kaplan of the Astran Empire at the beginning of the Space War in 2065 was an Astran whose skin was a reddish orange. The Kaplan used a large purple hover-disc with gold adornments.
The Kaplan reprimanded their second-in-command the Kaplan Minus for mistreating a peace emissary after the Minus almost disintegrated Steve Zodiac, refusing to listen to the Minus's protests that Zodiac may be an assassin or otherwise dangerous. After Zodiac explained his mission to them, the Kaplan agreed to come to Earth to discuss the terms of, and ultimately sign, a peace treaty with the President of Earth.
