Jan (The Bitter Cold Dish)

Jan and Franz were German farmworkers.

In the late 2040s, they found former Agent Twenty One of the Universal Secret Service when he collapsed from exhaustion after swimming to the mainland from a submarine. Knowing of a bogus news story put out by the USS in order to capture him, they restrained him in their farmhouse to collect a ten thousand dollar reward. Jan clutched a shotgun while Franz called the police to their location. After Twenty One regained consciousness but failed to convince Franz to release him by saying that he was just a toy salesman on a publicity stunt to swim the Baltic, he made one of his toys emit a high-pitched hypnotic note, causing Jan and Franz to collapse and allowing him to escape anyway.
